How to Join
People that have an interest in the outdoors, able to pass a background check, and are willing to volunteer some of their time to help people can apply to join the Asotin County Sheriff’s Posse. A user’s membership in the Asotin County Sheriff’s Posse will not be denied for reasons of race, color, religion, national origin, culture, physical, or mental handicaps. Age will only be used as a criteria for membership as it pertains to the minimum age required for being a member, which happens to be 18 years of age.

Membership Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Submit a completed application
• Pass a criminal background check
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Receive authorization of the Asotin County Sheriff
• Be voted on and approved by the membership
• Complete a 6-month probationary period with basic training
